Mel’s Valentine's Caramel Dodgers

Alison Owens

These deliciously naughty biscuits are a perfect treat for the one you love. They look impressive and are far easier to make than they look! Makes 12 sandwich biscuits.

  • 4oz granulated sugar

  • 8oz unsalted butter, softened

  • 12oz plain flour

  • 1 can of Carnation Caramel

  • 2oz milk or dark chocolate

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour and work the mixture into a dough.

  2. Roll out the dough until roughly 1/4” thick. Cut out 24 heart shapes and transfer to greased baking sheets. Cut smaller hearts out of 12 of the biscuits (these will be the tops). Prick biscuits lightly with a fork.

  3. Bake for 15-20 mins at 150c until pale golden, cool on a wire rack.

  4. Spread caramel onto the plain hearts and top with a cut out heart. (You will not use the whole can of caramel).

  5. Melt the chocolate and pipe some decorative lines across the biscuits to finish. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
